The infected file won’t even run one instruction. Could it be that H: is an external drive no longer mounted? Even so, the program shouldn’t crash on that.

It looks like R77 is an open-source project made by a hobbyist for education purposes. I suppose someone lazy/stupid repurposed it for their own needs and didn’t even change it.
