    So, this rekindles an interest I’d had before in Datalog, but I’m unsure if we’ll actually get a “next generation language” like he’s talking about. We had Prolog and Lisp fighting the AI wars for 4GL and 5GL, but I’m unsure just how mainstream this will go.

    Though, we do have things like Rust ending up with a surprising amount of popularity, if you look at things from a 2008 lens, so a lot of change over time is possible.

    The only thing that seems likely to for sure be around in the next 10 years and talked about a lot is JavaScript and C.
