Syntax highlighters can be very useful to developers, but it is a significant task to develop them for every environment - so many devs, so many preferences. They seem cumbersome and error prone to maintain. I’m looking for a tool that can be more DRY. I came across Iro, which is a web-based tool that can generate multiple outputs - Pygments, Rouge, Sublime3, Ace, Atom, and a few others. But that still seems very manual.

Are there any lobsters that have come across more clever tools to generate and more importantly maintain syntax highlighters?
