    Ad tech companies do everything they can to avoid regulation and liability, they want to exist in a kind of “wild wild west” situation, and they frequently (though unintentionally, one hopes) serve malware alongside their ads.

    Given all of this, I see any attempt to “steal” from them using fake ad impressions or clicks as basically a war between crime families. Sure, I’d stop it if I had a magic wand or something, but since all the players are there by choice and they’re all pretty unsavory, I just don’t care that much about it.
