Tangent: I’m having a helluva time finding a replacement/spiritual successor for my Nexus 4. I’ve had every Nexus phone since the Nexus S (and an HTC running CyanogenMod before that), and they’ve all gotten too big to be usable for me. The Nexus 5 I found too tall (and it went to my partner), the Nexus 6 and OnePlus One are huge (and the prior too expensive). Will there ever be another small, vanilla (or almost-vanilla) Android phone? At this point, I’d even settle for an LTE version of the Moto G Google Play edition.

The Moto G stock and Moto G GPE edition have the same hardware. There’s GPE ROMs for the LTE hardware.

I totally understand that jumping through the hoops of unlocking the bootloader and re-flashing is too much, though.
