    My suggestion is to start with ZFS-FUSE if you’re on a 32b machine as it’s more stable than the 64b-only kernel version. The drawback is RW performance, but you can always upgrade your zfs pool from 32b FUSE -> 64b kernel version but not vice versa.

    I’ve had no problems with ZFS-FUSE for years on low powered NAS machines, but ran into a lot of issues running the kernel version on a 32b OS that was not mentioned in documentation. Only afterwards asking on the mailing list and was I told that 32b wasn’t supported.
