Old news by now, but I’m still really bummed by this loss (especially so soon after Zite, my #2 tool in this area was shut down – Flipboard is not a suitable replacement). I’ve been madly “pocket”-ing stories so I can move the blogs they’re from into feedly, but it’s not the same. :-(
It seems like they’ve given a remarkably small amount of notice for people to move their data out. This post was shared on the 11th of December, and the hard deadline is the 20th. I guess when you’re killing off a product in a space different from your core business you don’t really care if you upset your users.
Also, this isn’t “writing the next chapter”, it’s “killing off a product because it doesn’t make enough money to continue.” Can we drop the flowery language in these kinds of announcements?
