    Ok, nice effort!

Before anybody complains about OAuth ruining IRC: this effort is just adding new optional things clients can add support for if they want to. I expect OAuth to be out-of-scope for many IRC clients and that’s perfectly fine. The current approach of passing a personal access token as the password will keep working.

Should move this up to the top in huge bold lettering :D

I actually wish more IRC clients and servers supported this as an authentication method. It’s something people understand, would introduce a simpler way to do ACL and allow make it more of a viable option against Matrix and XMPP (both things that I’d run myself if I decide to spin up a community).
