This is perhaps a different approach to how I might have repaired such a camera: I’d probably go with mechanical solutions and try to produce a housing that allows mounting of a manual focus camera lens.

It’s fascinating to see the details of how autofocus is controlled, however; and I’d love to know what caused the initial broken connection in the voice coil that led to the failure.
