    It’s bad because engine diversity is really essential for the open Web.

    It stopped being an “open web” a long time ago. The purpose of the web today is to enrich corporations.

      How do you know that this isn’t their long term plan? Porting Edge to Android would be an absolutely massive effort. There is no way anyone at Microsoft would do that without at least getting something on the market first.

        I’m assuming this is because the native browser experience is always going to be better than a non-native one - especially on Android.

        The issue then is broader than “engine diversity” - it’s the Android-iOS platform duopoly.
