Blazing adoption.
I like how this layout considers the notion of networked computers a fundamental part with the /hosts directory. Unix was born out of a main server many things clients model, this goes more towards a decentralised approach closer to today’s reality.
The host mounts are nice, but otherwise it’s hard to see any real value that couldn’t be achieved by moving most of everything under /usr/.
Anyone remember that Linux distro that has its own filesystem layout?

That’s why it will never gain traction. Doing OOP databases was a bad idea so why would a file system be any different?
.app distribution on Mac has some nice characteristics. To install the whole app (“object”) you just copy the folder.
