Imagine locally observed consensus and self-categorization using locality specific tags based on reverse TLD for that region.

For example: An article relevant to Appleton, WI USA might be tagged us.wi.appleton. An article relevant to Nankai District in Tianjin China may be tagged cn.tj.nankai

    Hmm… my lobste.rs inexperience is showing.

    I hadn’t realized that all tags are by default visible. Having tags for each city on the globe would not work well.
