On 22 November 2022, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), in exercise of its powers under sections 131 and 133 of the Enterprise Act 2002 (the Act), made a reference for a market investigation in relation to the supply of mobile browsers and mobile browser engines, and the distribution of cloud gaming services through app stores on mobile devices (and the supply of related ancillary goods and services) in the United Kingdom.
I submitted this because it’s a statement of why government might want to interfere with what Apple are doing.
For my part I don’t think there’s a way to have meaningful competition without a security free for all.
