I saw that Alice and Bob were given a symmetric key and thought, “oh, that makes it easier.” But, then I got to thinking that this is ridiculous, and insane! Until I thought, well, could a human perform cryptanalysis on this and crack it? Only to realize that the researchers didn’t study the devised crypto system, and admit that they don’t think NN can be good at cryptanalysis.
So, very interesting, but hard to draw anything but coolness factor from it, and a notion that “yes, NN can munge data to be recoverable by another NN if they share a secret,” which certainly isn’t insignificant!
