Very happy to see this being maintained again. For a long time the binary packages wouldn’t install right and the Qt build had older qt devtools googe required AND didn’t build clean so it was kind of a mess.
These days I’m happily back on OSX but IMO this is a super great tool and it’s always great to see cross platform :)
It does, but the OSX specific version “Dash” that Zeal is patterned off of is much nicer on that platform. It integrates with other OSX services in ways Zeal doesn’t.
Specifically, I have Dash hooked in via my launcher, Alfred, so I can do docset searches from anywhere with just a few keystrokes.
You can access Zeal/Dash docsets from emacs too, with helm-dash.

As soon as I saw “Zeal” I had the Corridors of Time playing in my head.

A normal browser won’t do? Why app-ify docs?
I find I’m a lot more productive when I disconnect my computer from the internet so it’s helpful to have offline docs.
“An offline documentation browser inspired by Dash.” Comes with lots of docsets.
I’ve been using Sunaku’s
dashtfor the shell in lieu of this for a while now and been very happy with it.
