      This is a nice writeup of an electronics project.

      Notice that when you use protection diodes to limit voltage, you have to make sure the supply bus draws enough current to accommodate the extra current. Otherwise, the +3.3 V will rise towards +5 V, powered by its external inputs. This is a bit rude to digital devices on the bus, and absolutely fatal to accuracy of analog circuitry.

      The clickable diagrams are pretty cool. The schematics could be made a bit cleaner by leaving off irrelevant information like power ratings of pull resistors and voltage ratings of capacitors on 3.3 V circuits.
