Posted this because it’s designed to use HTTP/2 or 3 efficiently and it is mostly a pure HTTP API. And it is blazingly fast in comparison to the old “clone the git repo locally” index. It’s very satisfying when someone builds something simple with well-established tech that ends up working really well.
Rust 1.68.0 has been released so this is now usable in stable Rust too. Still opt-in though. https://blog.rust-lang.org/2023/03/09/Rust-1.68.0.html
