    I love it. J’s hooks and forks made me fall in love with combinators and now I can play a game involving combinators??

    Some things I found:

    • YK is your friend. To absorb Ys, build YK (followed by anything). This reduces the whole column to K(YK). This too absorbs Y; YK(YK) —> K(YK)(YK) —> YK —> K(YK). Now Y should pose no threat – free points!
    • YK is your friend. To remove a whole column, prepend a paren and fill it with YK (or YK[any] in case of a 3-paren). Same story as above – it reduces the whole column to K(YK).
    • YK is your friend. If you make a blob of parentheses, you’ll be fine as long as you cap the left end with a YK.
    • Now that Y and parentheses are essentially taken care of, the rest of the game is about distributing your Ks and Ss as well as reaction time. Use your K(YK) column to absorb Ys. Use your paren blob to absorb parens and extra Ss. Ks always annihilate things so you can use the other columns to dump your extra S, using K to keep those towers short.
    • YI, YY, and YS are not your friend. The first two immediately reduce infinitely and end your game. But YS will only start its infinite reduction if there are 2+ terms following the YS, which gives you time to eliminate your mistake.

    Would love to hear on strategies involving I, or a better Y-absorbing structure (i.e. one that performs more reductions, giving more points)

        The game seems to get harder to play the higher your score. :D

          Yes, the notes say it starts throwing more Y combinators at you the higher your score gets.
