    Oh, I’ve heard of it. I worked in a SAGE building, which had been renovated and renamed “The PRIDE Building”. Although there were no huge mainframes left, the building itself was very obviously not built with humans in mind, so it made for terrible office space. The ventilation was so poor that we had to run huge carpet-drying fans for seven days to keep the odor at bay when we painted the walls in just one hallway.

    As you can see in the photos, it’s a huge, multi-story cement building with no windows whatsoever. Not pictured is the enormous cavern of a basement each one has. It was like a typical zombie-shooter game down there, complete with little shelter areas stocked with canned water from the 60s, flickering or completely broken lighting, and acres of defunct office equipment. A couple of us hauled up one of the incredibly heavy steel desks to use in my office (I thought it was kitschy, prominently featuring a built-in ashtray and slide-out shelves).
