    For starters, I dislike any cluster which uses the word “You”. The author does not know what I want or don’t want.

    Secondly, the point is quite valid in here but not general enough, IMO. In general, one should choose the minimalist semantics that they need to solve a problem. [1] describes this to some degree, where the semantics of something should be defined by the actual something not what the something happens to be implemented in.

      “You” can be used as an indefinite pronoun, just like the indefinite pronoun “one”. The author was not talking about “you” specifically (in the second person), but rather “you” generally as a non-specific individual.

      Just like “one”, but without being tediously formal.
