The G4 is still my favourite iMac design. I have a 15” 1.25GHz still trucking along. It’s good enough to use as a terminal and for Classic apps, and it occasionally plays DVDs and CDs for the kitchen with its set of Pro Speakers. Plus, this size display wasn’t too heavy for the arm; the springs are still in great shape.
For the cable routing you can get sets which are a ribbon cable and connectors. I’m not sure if they would fit here, but there are plenty for hdmi and usb. This might be an option if you need to flexibly run cables around a project

Maybe their ”robotics” thing is a new take on this design? I’d buy it!
