    A public key is 256 bits long whereas, the hashed version, i.e the Bitcoin address, is 160 bits long. This makes it a lot more convenient for users to use due to the shorter character length.

    It’s strange reality occupied by someone who honestly believes that 20 random 8-bit characters is so much more convenient than 32.

      Especially when there’s essentially no attempt to make these characters easier to distinguish, i.e. eliminating O and l from the output to prevent confusion with 0 and 1.
