ReactOS is a free and open-source operating system for x86/x64 personal computers intended to be binary-compatible with computer programs and device drivers made for Windows Server 2003.
I’ve heard that the Russian government is one of the big funders into ReactOS - it makes sense; existing software and user training works, and you’re not beholden to the vendor.
The only part I dislike is the home page advertising 9 million lines of code as a feature. And not a liability.
What surprises you?
I read in that statement that it’s incomplete and that it’s more lean than the original.
