The Python code there is probably the least-understandable I have ever read. I’ve never seen so many one letter variables. Almost looks like it went through an obfuscator. They may as well not have bothered posting code at all.
The term I like is “science coding”, and you see it a lot in academia and data science. Part of the problem is that coding is seen as the necessary drudgework as a prelude to doing your actual job, so it’s hard to convince people to invest time in learning how to write good code.
