I mentioned that I would spend the weekend trying to make an LCD work from NetBSD on the Raspberry Pi. I did actually make it work after lots of painful troubleshooting and learning about GPIO, SPI, DTBs, and the like.
So now that I know this whole thing can be made to work, this week I’ll “productionize” the code. It’s not difficult anymore – but it still requires quite a bit of code reorganization and cleanups. In the end I want to get to having a tiny RPI Zero 2W with the LCD in a case booting straight into EndBASIC in just a few seconds :)
Spending my last 36 hours or so in the sun, before heading back to the cold rain that masquerades as the UK at this time of year. Not looking forward to it if I’m honest, already booked the next trip back out here to stave off the winter blues. 🙃
Suspect my time outside work will be catching up with family & friends. Need to continue prototyping the bracket for the Z4 head unit, else I’ll come to do an event in June with it and it still won’t have a head unit which will really annoy me.

It seems I’m reviving the abandoned leaflet web components project and fighting my way through generations of bad javascript tooling.
