Congrats Bozhidar and the rest of the team! RuboCop really shows that success is not a destination, it’s a journey.

        True that! Thanks!

        Thank you!

On the quiet it has done a lot to improve my Ruby coding.

This is even though, or perhaps because, I have been using ruby since version 1.8!

It’s hard to relearn language idioms once you’ve learnt them, but Rubocop is a patient teacher that gently nags and shows me better ways.

ps: Thanks for all your Emacs packages as well!

One small amusement though… since you carved the style cops out of the main gem…. it’s become hard to find The Real Rubocop!

        gem search rubocop | wc

returns 218 rubocop related gems…. by far most of them some flavour of Style.

Ah well, if The Experts cannot agree on coding Style, who am I to agree with them?!

Any recommendation for any real gems of rubocop relate gems (apart from the standard install)?

All the “official” extensions are hosted at https://github.com/rubocop-hq I guess the most prominent ones would be:

          • rubocop-rails
          • rubocop-performance
          • rubocop-rspec
          • rubocop-minitest
          • rubocop-rake

One small amusement though… since you carved the style cops out of the main gem…. it’s become hard to find The Real Rubocop!

The Style cops are still part of the main gem, btw. Only Rails and Performance cops were extracted out of it.
