    Also note that FORTRAN is not included in the list, because no sane person would switch to FORTRAN from another programming language voluntarily.

    FORTRAN, for all of its faults, still has the best-tuned numeric stack I’m aware of. I know several colleagues who have switched for that reason, shaving weeks off of year-long calculations.

    I don’t mind FORTRAN-bashing, honestly, it just seems odd to me to use, test, and plot the FORTRAN results, and then not include them in the final listing.
