    This Dictionary (written by Iverson himself) describes a dialect of APL that is much closer to J or a modern APL like later versions of Dyalog than it was to the original APL: for example, it includes things like the Rank adverb and deprecates bracket indexing. It also includes a direction function definition syntax that doesn’t appear in any modern APLs that I know of but was recently added to the latest versions of Shakti k.

      One of my favorite things about this paper is how succinctly it models the parsing of APL in the description of ⊥ as a “word formation” verb along with appendix table 2 for evaluating tokens by pattern-matching the top 4 elements of a stack.
