If they manage to commercialize any high-temp chips, that could be a huge market. I worked in engineering oilfield tools, and high temperature electronics were a constant struggle. Any company in that industry would be willing to spend billions of dollars on microcontrollers with MTBF significantly above 100 hours or so at temperatures above 150c. That’s the rough order of magnitude they’re dealing with, and going an order of magnitude or more above that would revolutionize how deep directional oilwells could be drilled.
