    I’ve been posting all these older docs and things recently because it seems that the lessons of the past are being forgotten, or, in this case, to show the importance of reproducible builds and documenting your environment beyond and not just your code.

    This is a great case-study that shows just how quickly the knowledge of important specifics (toolchains, build environments, etc.) can be lost. While the PC BIOS is ancient in tech times it’s barely “antique” outside our craft.

    Even when full source code is available, how exactly usable is it later?
