There is nothing more annoying than people persisting shit out of convenience when writing a standard.
If you can take the time to codify “best practices”, perhaps also take the time to make sure they’re actually the best.
Otherwise, you may just be parroting long-irrelevant specs.
That would have been a lot easier to read if it were about ¼th the size and didn’t have all the silly fluff.
The original press release from NOAA was more informative, easier to read, and didn’t sound so goofy:
