I’m not sure what exactly is the mechanism behind it, could it be somehow passed through the device tree that we mentioned in the previous article, or something in the ISA itself tells this to the kernel, I’m not sure.
It’s from the device tree. Historically, this was just riscv,isa, but it has been extended recently.
I kinda want to do this on top of OpenBSD now. Though it might be harder ’cause BSD kernel and userlands tend to be more intertwingled.
