I got the opportunity to visit a nuclear waste facility in Sweden recently. It is colocated with two nuclear reactors in Oskarshamn. One cannot take pictures above ground, but underground it was allowed. The pictures aren’t great but the best I could do.

I think the facility is really interesting because it shows an example of where society is trying hard to think long term but at the same time it feels like there is a lot of hubris involved in thinking we are capable of making something safe for longer than our civilization has existed.
