The first part reminds me of go vet. The 2nd reminds me of a tool a coworker wrote to thank volunteers who helped her with her project. I’d been helping with it for 2 years and really appreciated the heartfelt individualized thank-you emails she’d been sending. Then one day she showed me how she did it: a program that read list of names & email addresses and sent the thank-you emails; mail-merge, basically! I was a little disappointed but also rather impressed.
