Meh. Google doesn’t care about the standards one bit. They’ve dumped XMPP, finally implemented CardDAV in gmail only in, what, late 2012? No joke, even Apple had support for CardDAV many years earlier, from the server products to the iPhone! Plus, even though FaceTime is a disappointment, outside of mobile, Apple still fully supports XMPP both server- and client-side on OS X. Etc.
If neither Google nor Apple support pointer-based events, it’s probably just another attempt for Microsoft to remain relevant in today’s world. No news there. Heck, even Yandex objected!
Wow, such a bitter and whiny post!
Google might not have embraced and extended HTML; they went after HTTP (with SPDY) instead.
