Interesting idea. To use the speakers terms, I think I’ve been trying to figure out how to make an “authorship environment” which can produce things that are compatible with our “scribal” world: web browsers, TCP, HTTPS, etc, over the past few years.
It looks like they were targeting the UI and UI programming part of the problem first, as it’s the most directly tangible “environment”. What would this look like if it was centered around the ways data is formatted and stored on disk? Or the ways clients, servers, and peers communicate over Ethernet? I’d be curious to hear what their plan was for those things
