An observation that doesn’t disagree with the message of this short essay. Reading the Wikipedia page of the first painting exhibited it becomes clear young Picasso was made to go to art school at a young age.
So to any aspiring artists out there: don’t feel bad if you weren’t creating social realist masterpieces at age 15 :)
That’s a good point I left out! The age in the image caption could be taken to mean I was emphasizing how young Picasso was the first time around, and that inherent ability was what was important. But you’re right: I was trying to emphasize that he was training for this for most of his life.
