Ah… that is a really big bummer, I’m sorry!

Here are some tips for hopefully the next time, or next person who might give it a try.

    1. In the /mnt/etc/nixos/configuration.nix (https://nixos.org/nixos/manual/index.html#sec-installation-installing) there is a commented line line:
       # networking.wireless.enable = true; # Enables wireless support via wpa_supplicant.

where we’re hoping you’ll see the line and uncomment it. I’m sorry you didn’t, it’d be nicer to detect you’re using wifi and uncomment it automatically… hmm!

    1. nixos-install is completely idempotent. If you find your installation doesn’t boot for whatever reason, you can reboot in to the install disk, skip partitioning, mount all your disks under /mnt as if you had just formatted them, skip nixos-generate-config, and edit your /mnt/etc/nixos/configuration.nix and re-run nixos-install.

I hope these help the next person who finds themselves in a tricky spot!

      No worries at all.

nixos-install is completely idempotent.

This is exactly what I did. I think one thing which could be helpful is to just add a little warning to the manual right before the installation step.
