    I don’t agree with all of his criteria for selecting “The Last Programming Language” but I found the analysis he undertook to arrive at his decision interesting and enlightening.

    In particular it’s super interesting to me that he chose Closure since LISP like languages get so much flack in the mainstream for incomprehensibility.

    The criterion I have the most trouble with is “It’s got to run in a VM because we don’t want to have to worry about hardware” (paraphrase). It feels like there are a lot of assumptions at play there which may or may not be applicable given the problem domain.
