I feel like I live in bizzaro universe when i read a post that repeatedly mentions “most terminal emulators” but never once mentions xterm. Maybe most users have moved on, but I think it’s still a fairly prominent exemplar in the category of terminals.

Terminal emulators traditionally use maybe a dozen or so bytes per cell. Adding hyperlinks potentially increases it by magnitudes
