I’m really glad that @alynpost (who graciously hosted this site for a stretch there) was able to complete this transition!

The main things that stick out to me:

    • VPS instances are now server.vm.tornadovps.net.
    • We finally have the VPS console at server@console.tornadovps.com instead of the old server@server.console.xen.prgmr.com. I always had to look that up until I finally stopped being lazy and shoved it into my configs.
    • It’s kinda nice that billing isn’t its own subdomain anymore.

Just little quality of life improvements, and if I understand correctly with this done maybe we can get more feature development underway–I imagine the migration took a bunch of effort.

I’m kind of annoyed with how rapidly this has been rolled out, personally. I would’ve preferred a few months notice, instead of ‘a few days’.

I would rather have given more notice myself. If you find yourself needing more time, reach out to support@tornadovps.com and I’ll forward the request to retain your DNS entries.

What’s the reason for the rush? Is Luke getting tetchy about the domain or something?

I received a bill from Prgmr a few days ago, and confirmation of payment to TornadoVPS today. I can’t say the lack of a notification is comforting.

Apparently we have the rest of this month to fix references to prgmr.com in configurations and DNS.

Oh! Was not expecting a reply of this sort. Thank you. I’m just griping.

Your announcement email got caught by gmail’s spam filter for me. I’ve marked it “not spam”, but I wonder if other customers had a similar issue.

              I did, too.
