    In the comments on the original article, I read people suggesting they just use dhcp6. I always found SLAAC a bit odd, though of course appealing from an “automagical” standpoint, because won’t most people be running dhcp6 anyway so they can send down addresses of dns resolvers? What is the alternative? Stateless ip6 address but hard coded dns servers?

    In the thread on hackernews, people mentioned RFC 7217. I wonder if that will see any uptake given some of the apparent issues with privacy/temporary addresses implementations.
