This reminds me of another very cool 99% Invisible that talked about how to mark nuclear waste sites in a way that would be understandable in 10,000 years. The DOE has more, where they detailed their designs of scary spike fields, massive earthworks, etc.
I’d like to be an optimist and think our spawn in 102016 would smile at the concept of us freaking out about Tc-99 and Sn-126, but somehow I worry nonetheless.
I’ve seen that one. It’s impressive in a lot of ways, but most especially that, at some point in the not too distant past, there were humans who had a sufficient desire to be responsible to make plans on that timescale.
