On one hand, I want to upvote this because it is legitimately awesome and took a lot of effort, but on the other hand, it is starting to veer away from the focus/topic of the site.
There was remarkably little detail about the computer part - how to access the google maps data, how to stitch the frames together, how to create this big file, and so on, so, yes, off topic.
