A lot of HID devices are fine with just a wire adapter - they detect the voltage and know what protocol to speak then. (Usually, only USB devices do this, and come with a USB to PS/2 adapter.)
I was going to say, most keyboards I’ve tried with the dumb wire adapters recently seem to work fine even though they weren’t included.
