    I can see the logic behind The Rule, but at the same time, I’m not sure it’s what I want out of a project. If the goal is to keep the project alive simply to keep the project alive, is that useful in the long run as well? Are projects a church that need to be kept alive just so people have something to do on a Sunday? What I want out of a project is a solid solution to a problem I have, not a bloatted mess just to keep the project alive. I don’t work on any large OSS projects and am quite happy going on my own developing what I want, so I’m the complete wrong person for The Rule, but it’s definitely a delicate balance for a larger project.
