The Zcash Foundation is seeking grant proposals, and I suspect that members of this community would have wonderful ideas. The deadline for initial proposals is May 18 (two weeks from now).
About us: The Zcash Foundation is a nonprofit organization that exists to promote financial privacy through technology, with a particular focus on the cryptocurrency Zcash and its underlying cryptographic innovations.
We have a total budget of $250,000 for this round of our grants program, all of it to be dispensed as discretionary funds. The specific amounts awarded to individual grants will vary based on project scope.
Desired applicants: Anyone with computer science, mathematics, cryptography, or programming abilities. There is also a need for community development work.
Here’s the call for proposals directly: https://github.com/ZcashFoundation/GrantProposals-2018Q2

Proposals should be submitted as a GitHub issue: https://github.com/ZcashFoundation/GrantProposals-2018Q2/issues (you can also see what others have proposed so far!)
For context, the last time we ran this grant program, there were 27 applicants. You can see their proposals and the discussion about them here: https://github.com/ZcashFoundation/GrantProposals-2017Q4/issues
10 grants were awarded, and the grantees received amounts from $4,500 to $30,000. More details: https://z.cash.foundation//blog/grant-awards/
We have more than double the budget for the current round of grants.
