Huge fan of Guacamole and RDP, use it all the time. I agree it’s not really built for watching movies, but it works for everything else, very well.

I wonder how well xrdp works with Wayland? Or is there an RDP version for Weyland?

xrdp doesn’t support Wayland, but there are various implementations.

Weston has a plugin on compositor-level for it, the KDE project has krdp which afaik uses Desktop Portals to access the screen and thus works in environments that have that (so including but not limited to only KDE’s stack), fairly sure Gnome has something too but I’m not sure how it is implemented.

Feel like you could write that general answer in a form that could be copy pasted verbatim into almost every “Does wayland support X?” question.

something I can’t tell without running it…. does xrdp work like it does in Windows, where you see the same session locally as in the RDP client? Or does it give you a separate login session?
