Indeed, but it’s the regular cadence and the inclusion of the higher-level non-technical aspects (along with a bit of backstory) that I really like. Most project release notes/changelogs are either only at release time or too low level (“Added driver for Intel xABNC wireless”). Low level is fine (and serves a purpose), but doesn’t really give a feel for project direction, progress against long-term goals, etc.
I love reading these - for those of us who can’t follow all of the mailing lists all of the time they’re a great way to catch up.
I wish more projects would publish similar status reports.
