Alias is a teachable “parasite” that is designed to give users more control over their smart assistants, both when it comes to customisation and privacy.
It would be nice if the device could cut out the power to the original one completely. But I imagine they probably take long to boot, so it might be not feasible :( Also, the original one could then get equipped with a battery if its creators wanted to defeat this…
Another idea could be to try sticking some kind of mechanical “earplug” over the mic; but then it’d probably make the device more difficult to make, needing some kind of an actuator.
It’s a squid! I wonder how long it will take to get a neural network to ignore whatever the device puts out.
Applause! But, can you really grow mushrooms on it too? I’ll be a little disappointed if not.
you might need to keep your smart assistant in the dark to grow mushrooms on it…
Right! I knew it seemed somehow familiar.
I love the idea!
